This article gives us some insight of what assessments can be used to assess students' technology and digital literacy skills. One of the many assessments from Northstar produces many different types of assessments. One of the assessments was information literacy, where they would give students scenarios that they can either read or listen to. The student that is taking the assessment would solve the issue using the internet. There are also assessments in microsoft products that assesses and teaches students how to use different microsoft products as well. This will benefit students for the future because a lot of companies use Microsoft products.

Before discussing the importance of assessing Digital Literacy, It's important to discuss why digital literacy skills are so important. This article discusses what digital literacy is and why teaching these skills to students is important. For example, the article discusses how digital literacy helps students improve their engagement, performance, and collaborative skills.

In this book, chapter four has been a great resource for teachers that are involving technology into their curriculum. The authors discuss how if you are one of these teachers, it's important to assess their students through technology. This chapter gives teachers different types of assessments that would work for the teacher that is incorporating technology. For example, the authors suggest using digital storytelling, e-portfolios, and other multimedia projects.

This article gives more support why it is important to teach and assess digital literacies. Not only talks about the skills students will develop when being exposed to digital literacy. But, this article gives insight into what skills students will need when they enter the real world and why employers are looking for more people that are advanced in using technology. This article really embraces the fact that technology is imperative in today's society and will only escalate as time moves on.

Even though I am pro digital literacy and allowing students to learn and show their knowledge through multiple modes. I do think it’s important to discuss the opposition's concern of teaching and assessing digital literacies. In this article, the author discusses how learning through technology affects collaboration, time management, authenticity and many other negatives.

Because you are pro-digital literacy, I think your idea of researching the other perspective is admirable. I hope this helps you as you continue to add digital literacy in your classroom!
